Birke im versunkenen Boot

Prompt:
Wide cinematic landscape photograph, aerial view from a drone about ten metres above the water, camera tilted gently downward.

An old narrow flat-bottomed wooden river boat lies half sunk in the shallow still water of a Bavarian moor lake. The hull still holds its shape but is completely open on top - the deck planks are long gone and the curved wooden ribs stand exposed like a rib cage. The whole hull is overgrown: thick soft moss covers the gunwales and runs down the outer planks, ferns grow between the ribs, and a single slender young birch about two metres tall grows out of the middle of the hull, its thin white trunk leaning slightly. Only three or four small rust-red flowers sit in the moss as warm accents. Inside the open hull stands dark still water with a few loose planks lying across it.

The boat lies diagonally across the frame. The camera looks from behind and slightly to the left, straight over the open stern into the hull, so the inside of the boat is fully visible. The bow points away to the upper right and fades into mist.

Around the boat: a belt of reeds along the left and far shore, a low flat band of ground mist lying on the water, and behind it a dark treeline of spruce on the far bank. The horizon sits low, at about the upper quarter of the frame. Nothing between the lens and the boat, no foreground objects, no blur in front.

THE LIGHT IS THE SUBJECT. The sun has just risen and stands very low and OUTSIDE the frame on the left. No sun disc in the picture, no reflected sun path on the water. Its long flat grazing light rakes across the scene from the left and sets a narrow, brilliant, glowing golden rim along every upward edge of the moss on the gunwales, along the tops of the exposed ribs and along the white birch trunk - a bright burning outline that draws the shape of the boat. This glowing rim is unmistakable and is the brightest thing in the picture. Everything the light does not touch - the shadow side of the hull, the water, the mist - stays cool blue and soft and open, never black. The grazing light also becomes visible as pale glowing horizontal bands inside the ground mist and sets the reed tips on the left alight.

Sky: a dramatic layered cloud ceiling of broken cloud bands with gaps, lit warm from below in amber, peach and dusty rose, darker slate grey above, soft drift streaks from a long exposure.

Colour: split warm above and cool below. The green of the moss is the bridge between the two halves - burning yellow-green where the light touches, deep green in shadow. Muted cinematic colour, slightly desaturated, no neon green, no bright turquoise.

The contrast between the straight man-made line of the boat and the wild overgrowth is the point of the picture and must be unmistakable.

Long exposure of several seconds: the water surface is a completely smooth mirror without a single ripple. 20mm wide angle at f/11, hyperfocal, everything sharp from the near stern to the far treeline. Editorial landscape photography quality.

The lower right corner of the frame is calm empty water.
